Ranger Tanner

Well, today was a big day for my nephew, Tanner. He now has his Learners Permit! Ranger Tanner is on the road! I call him"Ranger Tanner" because he will be sporting around in the red Ford Ranger. Watch for him on the road!

We all went to celebrate at Tijuana Flats! And NO he didn't drive us there. I can't believe he is this old - heading next year to high school! Plus - he found his lost phone today! Things can't get much better for him.

While I'm speaking of nephews, let me introduce you to Dalton, Dylan and Spencer. Tell me that photo isn't full of attitude.

They will all be heading off to middle school next year. Right now they are enjoying all the fun of summer.

Instant Art Gallery

Installed a simple art project at my daughters house this weekend. Discovered the idea in the February 2009 issue of House Beautiful - 101 Designer Makeovers.

Remove the pages from a book, frame and display on the wall as a grid. In this case I pulled a book from my daughters collection - Falling Up by Shel Silverstein.

Selected my favorite poems (and that would fit a college student) and framed the pages (total of 15)

Attached the hanging brackets at the top of each corner.

Close up of bracket.

All set to go!

And with the help of my sister-in-law for spacing... tadah...finished product. Repetition is powerful!

A Room of My Own

My daughter has moved into her 1st place at college (out of the dorm!) and now I have taken over her old bedroom and MADE IT MINE! It's been a process - painting and new floors! Now I have my own office/craft/hang out room!

Here is where I am now in the room. It's an odd shaped room so the office fits nice in the little niche.

And SCORE!...my stepson and daughter-in-law gave me this beautiful futon! Yes...that is a futon. You would never know!

Garden Pics

Here are some garden pics from the weekend

My husband is quite the backyard farmer!

Welcome to my blog!

I discovered "blogs" over the Christmas Holidays and have been hooked ever since. I have several that I visit daily - mostly decorating, crafts, home projects, kids, life, etc.

I've decided to go for it and create my own - filled with my own interests - home projects, decorating, crafts, my beautiful/smart daughter entering her second year in college, my wonderful husband with whom I'm always having fun with, my nephews which bring pure joy into my life, my family and all my friends.
